Celebrate Black History Month

February is Black History Month, and to celebrate, we are hosting a story time at Love of Character in partnership with Storytime Village.
The mission of Storytime Village, with the support of parents and the community, is to inspire a lifelong love of reading for underserved Kansas children from birth to age 8.
What to expect:
- Prisca Barnes, CEO of Storytime Village, will read from her published book, People, Pride, and Promise – The Story of the Dockum Sit-In that happened right here in Wichita.
- Kids will then be led in an activity called Put Yourself in the Picture which allows them to think about things they can do to ignite change in the world today.
- Each child will leave with a book.
- Snacks will be provided.
